Affiliate Disclosure

How affiliate links work here.

The Connected Desk may earn a commission when readers click certain retailer, software, or service links and make a purchase. The commission is paid by the retailer, platform, or affiliate network, not by the reader, and should not change the price shown at checkout.

This disclosure explains how commercial links fit into an editorial site that covers workspace systems, desk gear, software tools, and remote-work operations.

Editorial logic comes first

A product or tool must make sense for the system being discussed before it deserves a link. A monitor arm, task lamp, notes app, webcam, chair, power bank, or collaboration tool is judged by daily use: friction, maintenance, setup time, reliability, and whether it still helps after repeated workdays.

Affiliate potential does not decide whether a product is included. If a cheaper, simpler, non-affiliate, or already-owned option is the better answer, the page should say that clearly.

What affiliate links can support

Affiliate income can help pay for research time, image production, hosting, site maintenance, audits, and future product checks. It can also help keep the site independent from sponsored copy and shallow listicle production.

That support does not buy a favourable review, a softer verdict, a permanent placement, or a claim of testing that did not happen.

How software and subscriptions are treated

Workspace software can create recurring costs, data lock-in, team adoption friction, and privacy obligations. For that reason, software links should be treated with extra care. A tool is not good simply because it has a generous affiliate programme.

Before a software recommendation becomes a money page, it should explain who should skip it, how hard it is to leave, what data it handles, and whether the workflow survives beyond the first week.

Retailer and provider responsibility

When readers click to a retailer or software provider, that third party controls pricing, stock, delivery, returns, support, subscriptions, terms, cookies, and privacy practices. The Connected Desk does not process purchases or manage retailer accounts.

Readers should confirm final details before buying, especially warranty terms, subscription renewal rules, return windows, compatibility, voltage/region issues, and employer procurement requirements.

What we avoid

We avoid fake scarcity, invented awards, fake staff biographies, fabricated testing, copied product descriptions, and recommendations that exist only because a commission is available. We also avoid using branded product images or logos in generated editorial visuals unless properly authorised.

A useful page should still make sense if every commercial link is removed. If the logic disappears when the link disappears, the page needs more editorial work.

Corrections and commercial contact

Affiliate managers, brands, and readers can send corrections or programme information to hello@theconnecteddesk.com. Corrections are welcome; payment or affiliate access does not guarantee coverage or a favourable rewrite.
